Fusion and ADR at L3-4 L4-5

I am waiting for approval for an fusion at L3-4 which is severely degenerative bone on bone and a ADR at L4-5 which is the bulging disc that causing severe pain. I've had a CT and a discogram that has verified that those are the disc that are bad and are causing the pain. Has anyone had this surgery, I think its called a hybrid. Whats involved, recovery time, etc..? My surgeon is Dr. Richard Kahmann in Santa Barbara CA, has anyone heard of him/had surgery with him. He was highly recommended by a friend that had a ADR and by my lawyer.
