    Hello,
I Am Interested In Hearing From People Who Have Had Multi Level Lumbar Spine Fusions. I Am Supposed To Be Going In To Have either 3 Or 4 Levels done. I was told that they will put in these plastic spacers and I think he is putting something in to cause growth and then he will Put In And Metal Bars And Screws. I see the surgeon again tomorrow and I will find out everything before he schedules me. I Am Scared To Death. Two Seperate Nuerosurgeons Have Recomended This Surgery Do To An Unstable Spine. I Was In A Car Accident And I Started With A Couple Of Herniated Disks That They Operated On To Put Back In Place, But I Remained Still In Alot Of Pain Which Caused Me only to be able to Walk Very Little Because The Pain Was So Bad and painful just To Stand Up, So I Laid Down Most Of The Time. It Is Now 1 Year Post Op And Now Not Only Are Those Same Disks Herniated Again But Others Too. The Doctor Has Told Me There Are Alot Of Risks Involved. He Also Cannot Gaurantee Success. He Also Said That Being I Am Overweight I Have I Higher Risk For Extensive Bleeding During Surgery. It Is Alot To Absorb. I Have Gone Back & Forth With Myself About Going Through With The Surgery, But I Keep Coming Back To The Fact That I Am In So Much Pain Currently That It Has Stopped Me From Living So What Other Choice Do I Have But To Give This A Shot. Hopefully It Would Help.
Can Someone Please Let Me Know Your Experiences With This Type Of Surgery Either Good Or Bad. Also, I Was Told That For The First 2 Months Post Op The Pain Is Extremely Severe, Is This True? And How Long Is A Typical Recovery? Any Information Given Would Be Greatly Appreciated. I am desperate to get my life back.
    Thank You,
    Fishergirl
