Red face Thorasic spine problems

Is there an Artificial disc for the Thorasic part of the spine yet?. Are they doing any type of clinical trials for the middle of the spine yet?. Is fusion the only option at this time (here in the states). Any reply would be greatly appreciated. Thx, EF

Thoracic spine is not mobile, so there is no motivation to preserve motion. The 12 thoracic vertebrae are the ones with the ribs attached and the surrounding structure keeps the system from moving much. If you have thoracic disc problems and will need a fusion, you should fully investigate options, as all thoracic fusions are not created equal.

Good luck,

Mark

Default T-12 degeneration

Mark,
Thanks for the info. Scott Blumenthal at TBI said he could fuse it but results vary. I will look at all options. EF
