Default Anyone had a blood clot yet from a disc operation.

I continue to have sore calfs (2 and a half weeks), so I was just reading a few articles where one fellow had discs install. 3 weeks later his calf or calfs where sore.., someone warned him about a possible blood clot, his calfs where not swollen just sore and also not red..(sore,red, and painfull to touch are the signs I understand) anyway he had a check up and he had a blood clot forming.

I am not in a panic yet but has anyone on this board had this experience?

I know people with DVT (deep vein thrombosis) after spine surgery and also after other surgeries... it's a serious risk that should be taken seriously.

Many of us will experience a variety of hip/leg/foot pain after spine surgery. Also, we may experience more than our share of cramps / charlie horses that may cause soreness.

Let your doctor know... One serious DVT case I know started with calf pain.

All the best... let us know what your doc says.

Mark

Rob,
As a nurse I second Mark's opinion. Call your surgeon or GP. Better to find out it is not a clot and feel a little foolish than to ignor and find out it is!
