![]() Frequently, there are 2 components to the injection. One is a short acting local anesthetic will provide relief for one or more hours (depending on how long-acting an anesthetic they use. The second part of the injection is often a steriod that might not kick in for a day or two, then will only help if your problem is related to an inflammatory response that is reached and reduced by the steriod.
