Hi ZAK,
Welcome! I'm not sure exactly what you're describing--it might help for you to give more information about your cervical issues. But I can say that before surgery, I could not look up at the ceiling, fell asleep during a performance of Ka (Cirque de Soleil) because we were sitting up front and I couldn't lift my head to watch them climb vertical walls, and my head tilted to the right. One of the neurologists I saw who refused to believe that I had a c5/6 herniation diagnosed me with torticollis of unknown origin--which speaks more to these movement issues than to the reality of her diagnosis. |

A lot of people with pain issues describe themselve as unstable or difficult to hold up because when the do anything that loads off balance, their pain increases so much.
Some people with 'swan neck' literally can't hold thier head up. (Picture old person walking with face towards ground. I've seen this following laminectomy that destabilizes so much, the spine collapses forward in this way. Hopefully, that is not what you are talking about. Can you describe in more detail? Mark
