Default Insurance Forum? Other forums?

I have been asked to create an Insurance Issues forum by a member that goes all the way back to the days of granite ADR's.

I like not having a too fractured forum... it gets tough to manage and people tend to post in the wrong forums when there are too many. However, I agree that a specific insurance issues forum will be useful and is a good idea.

He also suggested a separate forum for other surgeries. I'm leaning against because it will be hard to classify... is ADR all motion preservation. Stabilization systems are motion limiting devices... but they save some motion... are they ADR or not?

I'll probably set it up in the next week or two. I thought I'd invite comments before I made any changes. Do you want more? less? other recommendations other than insurance?

I'm all ears!

Mark

Recap: (I'll update as the discussion proceeds)

Insurance... I'm leaning towards

Other (than ADR) surgeries... I'm leaning against

I agree with the insurance forum. Just don't get rid of the humor thread!

We almost had a Porn forum. In an earlier iteration, I had set up a forum that was going to be on a diffent domain and used different software. I abandoned it, but didn't uninstall the software. The spam bots found it and happily posted for many months. When I finally stumbled into it.... there was the network of ADR forums with thousands and thousands of posts... not only porn, but credit advisors, online pharmacies....

On and off, we've had problems with the spam bots here.... the micky mouse question at the end of the registration process is an unnecessary evil. Even with the captcha image verification, they were getting through.

Default Another Idea

Hi Mark,

I thought of a possible idea for a forum & thought I would throw it out there for you.

What about a forum for those who are taking care of loved ones in chronic pain or for those who are caring for those who have had surgery?

I had a fusion last week & had no idea how to prepare my husband for the "aftermath" of the surgery. Neither of us had any idea what to expect or a place where he could turn to for answers per se.

I thought perhaps a forum that could offer this information would be helpful to the members of our community.

I agree that a forum that deals with insurance issues is a good idea as well.

If you are looking for additional info, please let me know. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.

Karin

I think that is a wonderful idea Karin.

And I also think an insurance forum is a good idea too.

I totally agree with the caring for a loved one forum. We are having problems now, and after my surgery I am afraid it is going to get worse. If she will get on here, I think she could let some of the frustration out! I also agree with the insurance forum, because I just went through that nightmare.

Check out the new forums... insurance and caregiver support. Sorry Trukdoc... not enough resources to add another!
