Just checking in at 2.5 years post op
Just got a form email from Mark about this forum. So hello all. Had l5/s1 Prodisc from Bertagnoli in March 2004.
Treatment has still left me with all sorts of painful effects. Lie remains the same. Continue walking a fine line between bilateral nerve pain and perineal numbness. Stretching to relieve the former (which works) causes the latter (Gods joke on me). Every time. Glad to hear my Prodisc is statistically superior to fusion. However, with extreme disk collapse fusion may be better for some. Thats all. |

Hi Paul
So great to hear from you. I too was very collapsed before my ProDisc surgery also but have had a much different outcome. I wonder if you would still have the same issues if you had had a fusion instead of ADR. How long were you in pain before your surgery? I believe that when dealing with nerve issues related to back pain, length of time from when back problems arise and surgery has a big influence on your outcome.

sorry to hear of your pain.
i also had no disc left to a point where it was beginning to fuse. and im doing rather well at all most 16 wks post-op. but it was a very rough 16 weeks as far as distraction pain goes it was all in the legs and not the back. hoping things improve for you chuck
