Default Straubing Groceries (organic too!)

Great find today. My client needed organic produce, so we were asking around. As always, Nicole at the Theresientor either knows about, or will find out about whatever you need.

Organic Groceries:

die Spezerei
Just down the street (towards the Donnau) from the clock tower, you'll find this great organic market. Lots or produce, cheeses, spices, dairy and more... they even have an entire room devoted to natural cosmetics. Very friendly and wonderful homemade treats.

Unfortunately, the grocery store in the stadtplatz closed many months ago, so there are not a lot of options on the town square. I'll try to get a list of local groceries started.

All the best,

Mark

We found a grocery store in Theresientor Center, in what looks like a small shopping mall. It was what I think would be considered a large grocery store for Europe. It was very clean and modern looking. The fruits and vegetables looked fresh, and they had a salad bar.

If you turn left coming out of the hotel Theresientor and go across the street, past a restaurant on the left hand side is the entrance to the "mall". The grocery store is all the way to the back.

Cathy, thanks for posting. It's great to have that new center so close to the Stadtplatz. For years, there was no grocery store there.

I'd like to learn more about the gluten-free store that Lisa told us about? I've had several clients who require gluten-free diets... this will be a great find.
