Default Dynesys again

I'm meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday 1/15 and likely going to schedule to have dynesys surgery for my lower back. My discs are healthy but my facet joints are deteriorated and my lower spine is unstable. I am in constant pain and have a lot of inflamation. I am hoping to hear from more folks who have had positive results. I am fortunate that I am fairly strong & healthy with the exception of this instability. I had partial laminectomies to remedy stenosis in this area a little over two years ago, which may be a factor in the instability.

In any case, I would like to hear as much as I can about the experience of others, good and bad.

Thanks,
Art

Art, how did it go with the doc today? I have quite a few clients with Dynesys... some with success and some not. It's still difficult to figure out what the appropriate indications are. It varies greatly from one surgeon to the next and it also seems to change as they gain experience. I'll be interested to hear more about his rationale.

Call me if you can... number on the GPN website.

Default dynesys

I had dynesys but not for your indications as I have no instability that was indicated. There is a poster who had spondy with slippage and has had good results with her 3 level and she is two years out. I'd do your homeowork as much as possible. I will say that my lower back is improved but that wasn't my major complaint but nevertheless, nice to be alleviated.

Nigel... what great news.

There is no way to describe what it's like to come back to life and be your old self again... congrats!

I look forward to hearing more about your experience and your continued success.

All the best,

Mark
