Any discs looking good for the lumbar area
Any newer ADR discs looking good down the European and/or Phase I, II, etc. pike? E.g. http://tinyurl.com/2njo4k
Dr. Laureyseen likes Active-L. I can't access what Dr. B. uses from his website. Interested b/c due to questionable bone density, ProDisc's keel seems dug a bit deep. Thanks - ans |
Data presented for all the discs looks remarkably similar.
Dr. Bertagnoli still likes ProDisc, although many people I know have requested that he do Activ-L. He does Activ-L with keel, where Zeegers does without keel. You mentioned bone-density and reservation about keel in same sentence. Keel will provide additional resistance against subsidence as it provides more surface area for support.... kind of like the way pilings support a building... surface tension on vertical surface is what provides the support... not the small footprint at the bottom of the piling. Thanks Mark. Great news re: subsidence.
Two concerns are can the keel split the bone and also, despite ok facet injections, how often does post-ADR facet syndrome occur (an impossible prediction!) if MRI shows some "degneration"/"arthropathy". Other q's but will contact you privately soon as finally considering surgery for this Sept. probably w/Dr. R. Be well, Allan |
