Nelly, I hope you don't mind, but I moved this thread from surgical outcomes to the main iSpine forum.
Regarding your pillow question, I think that everyone has their own unique experience with them. In the past, I have purchased an expensive memory foam pillow that has 2 different heights depending on which side of the pillow you use. When I got it, I was so happy... it seemed like a significant improvement. Then, I stopped using it for a long time. Now, I seem to use it about 1/2 the time. I can't explain why it's so great some time, but completely unimportant at other times. I'd just try varying arrangements. If you are a back sleeper, you might want to try some pillows under your knees. Side sleepers should try a pillow between their knees. For lumbar patients, both of these can make a significant difference. Good luck... let us know how it goes, Mark

re pillows
Over the years I've had to use a number of different type of pillows for my neck so I think it really matters on what works best for you. I have long slept with a pillow between my knees and side lying in terms of my lumbar pain or on my back with my legs propped up on stacks of pillows. That helps to flatten out my low back and take pain away. You will have to find out by trial and error what works just for you I'm afraid. I wish you the best in your endeavor to find out what works to help your body out the best and alleviate any if not most or all of your symptoms if possible. Good luck~ Maria
