Default Update with new diagnose "costochondritis"

So,before few days i had a visit to my local neurosurgeon.
I copmlained about upper back pain and pain in chest...
After his examination,he decides to give me injection...he try to to provoke my pain, and was successful after presing my 2 rib where conecting my sternum.it was so big pain...esspecially on the left side,on the right not so much. He say i have costochondritis and decides to give me injection of lidocaine...and IF this helps later he will try with costisteroids. i feel great 1 week(no more pain in chest and no cracking at all)...feeling was great, altough this didnt ease my pain in upper back AT ALL. Now after 1 week i have pain again,so im waiting for 30.08 for steroid injection.
For upper back,he didnt say something special,he gives me new pils, antidepressants & some baclofenum who supposed to relieve muscle spasms.
I am so courious,if this can be somehow related with upper back problems?
I read if the tissue in front ribs are bad, this can happen behind in spine also.
This behind is called costovertebral something, what esspecially marks knows since he goes for this type of procedure.
If someone have similar problem or some info,i will appreciate it
tnx and sorry for my bad english grammar :/

Newhere,

Your English is good enough to understand and that's all we need. Your diagnosis and steroid injections might relieve your chest pain but you still had back pain. Is your doctor going to address this pain or just treat the symptoms and not worry about what's causing this pain? Are they related?

I do hope your doctor addresses both of your pain sources because relieving one without the other - you're still in pain.

Good luck with your upcoming injections.

Dale

Newhere I thought you were going to have a repeat discogram at some point because the first one was not that good? Did you ever have one to diagnose your problems?
I'm glad this surgeon has found some pain relief for you , keep us updated.

Default re myofascial syndrome

Newhere,
I hope if you do go to Germany you might get a more thorough workup and diagnosis to better aid and assist you in what action to take if any re feeling better.
Sorry you're having to deal with the frustration of not knowing exactly what's causing the pain/prob and do hope that gets further figured out soon enough.

And your English is good enough so don't worry about that!

I know your very frustrated Newhere. I wish I could be there to help you. I am now hoping my recent lumbar surgery takes away my lumbar pain and hip pain. Although yesterday i woke up and could barely walk on my right side. Wonder what that is. I am just in the waiting game now to see if things get better. some have improved and new things have popped up worse.

lets hope the corticosteroid injection has a great relief for part of your pain on the 30th.
