MRI Results 3/2011
MRI 3/2011 Results:
L5/S1 - 4mm annular disk protrusion but with a superimposted 8mm right paracentral disk extrusion resulting in slight displacment of the right L5/S1 nerve root sleeves. L4/5 - 2 mm annular disk bulge at L4/5 without central spinal stenosis. There is mild bilateral foramina stenosis. Diminished disk signal intensity without loss of disk height at L4/5 and L5/S1. |
All those things that say mild and slight always cause me a great deal of pain!! I don't know about you.
Have you seen a doctor with these results? judy |

Looks like the L5S1 disc is causing you the most prob/pain? I had a 2mm disc bulge at L5S1 that drove me crazy pain wise and for the longest time I kept hearing "it's a small bulge~ it shouldn't cause that much pain!" It did!
I have a 4mm one at L4 (rebulge) that has caused less pain! Neither impinging on anything of importance as far as I recall just caused enough pain/probs that I sought surgical solutions. |
I have seen 4 surgeons since 2008 and 2 of those have been this year. Going to seek a few more opnions but I think surgery is my best option at the L5/S1 level.
Have to think it is the L5/S1 that is the pain generator. Positive discogram 3/2010. |
discogram
If you have surgery over a year from your discogram date will the surgeon want to repeat it or go with basically w/the MRI?
|
I would be open to another discogram depending on the surgeon's recommendation but so far it has not been brought up.
|
I actually brought up the discogram at my doctors and then he agreed . Maybe you should be the one to ask, but if it was already positive i don't know why you would ask to do it again. Mine was like torture.
