Hi neigbhor Demary,

I'm not sure about injections or omjections. Is omjections something I don't know about, or is it a typo? I had SI injection in late January. Normally they give you light sedation to calm you down. I usually decline sedation so I can drive myself to home or work afterwards. Either way they numb you locally. While doing this you'll sometimes feel some momentary pain when they progress the needle forward. After you're numbed up you won't feel anything. That's when they do the SI injection.

Good luck,
Jim

I know a lot of people who requre sedation after they turn 40. Alcohol, valuim and other compounds make us better able to deal with the issues of aging. Oh... you want to be sedated for the injections... not for turning 40!

I think you'll get different answers from different doctors. Just bring it up.

For spine patients, I think that appearing hypersensitive to pain might change the way they treat you and approach your case. But... what can you do other than being honest and open with your doc and discussing this prior to your injections?

Good luck... let us know how it goes.

Mark

I agree with Mark about appearing hypersensitive to pain. I have put up with mine for 2 years and am so sick of it that I am becoming really quite sensitive to any EXTRA pain especially if anyone else is causing it.
Doctors dont take this to well and seem to give the opinion that I am not in much pain to start with, which isnt true! (my pain is 8/10 without meds and thats without doing anything)
I would suggest a couple of valium beforehand to relax your nerves, but best to ask the doc.
Good Luck,
Michelle.
