Hotel Theresientor have fridges?
Does anyone know if the Hotel Thersientor has small refrigerators in the rooms, or available to use? It says there are mini bars in the room, but sometimes those are not large enough to put much food into.
Since we are going to be there for about 2 weeks, we'd like to be able to buy some food and soda's to keep in the room. Like bread and lunchmeat, and snacks. It would be much cheaper than eating out all the time. Also, is there a microwave to use? |
Cathy,
3 1/2 years ago, the answer was no but they may have them now??? However, included is a full, and I do mean full, breakfast. Also don't know if you're familiar with Solvang, CA but the town is very similar with small food 'cafes' as well as full restaurants, not to mention the bakeries, up and down the street. I should warn you that butter is alive and well in Germany:eek: but what the hell, it's only for 2 weeks:D. The little experience I had with the restaurants tended to be large heavy meals. Julius, born in Hungary, was very much in his element. I preferred the cafes. If you're fortunate enough to feel well enough to go out, I think you'll enjoy the town and eating light should not be a problem, though those bakeries, mm, mmm, mmmm. Remember, it's only 2 weeks ;) Dale |
I'm not so worried about the type of food that is available, in fact I am hoping that I will be able to enjoy a good amount of German delights. It's more the cost of eating "prepared" foods, as compared to the cost of foods you can buy in a grocery store and prepare yourself.
My boyfriend is also a night owl, though I don't know what that will mean with the time difference. So, he would like to have food available in the middle of the night (not unusual for him). But let's put it this way, this is not high on my list of priorities right now. He will have to deal with it, whatever the situation. |
Two years ago, no fridges. :( Maybe different now?

So what about the mini-bar? Is it refrigerated, so you could take their food out and put your own in? I imagine even if it is, it's probably pretty small. We can always ask when we get there.
I think my boyfriend is resigned to accepting whatever the situation. Is the food, in the cafe's and restaurants around town, reasonably priced? |
