Default Caregiver forum

Thank you to Nairek (Karin) for suggesting a Caregiver Support Forum. This has been a pet topic of mine, especially since my wife's presentation at a spine symposium GPN hosted in 2005.

Read about her presentation here: Caring for a loved one in pain

I look forward to watching this new forum grow.

Mark

Mark,

I remember a while back reading about the presentation that your wife had done regarding caring for a loved one in pain. I read her letter & it just tugged at my heart.

Sometimes when you are in pain, you can't always see how your pain affects those around you. Or you may have a spouse who hides their pain & fear so others don't see it.

I think it's important to help support not only those who are in pain but also those who are most affected by it.

Thank you for starting this forum. I look forward to adding some threads to help the members of our community.

Karin

This could be a huge thread as many of us do care or have looked after our older, helpless parents. It took a lot out of me emotionally and years later, to date, I still am amazed that I can sleep with the cell phone off w/o worrying about *the call* which happened too many times.

Best to all. - Allan
