i agree, most people do very well. It is a gamble that is worth taking when you are in pain. My discs are placed perfectly and no one really know why they are giving me so much trouble. My facets are not looking well now so probably that is the problem. It could also be that the decompression surgery I had was the cause, I said the same thing as you, I could always fuse. So for me it was a gamble that did not work out but I would probably do it again. Good luck with you surgery. I wish you well. Phylly
