Injections yes or No?
Hi All
I am scheduled for injections tomorrow. At L5-S1 to relive nerve leg pain.IS this worth my time? or is this going to destroy more tissue?:confused: Help Thanks:) Gil:eek: |
IMHO, and my opinion only, I think they are a complete waste of time. I feel that it is an insult to the patient to mask symptoms and not to get to the root of the cause.
However, some people get relief and some people don't. I had 5 shots, 3 epidural and 2 nerve root injections. If I would have had the nerve root injections first, it would have stopped at 2. I had a max of 2 weeks relief 5 days after the shot. Some insurance companies require that the patient has them first before you get to move on to what really benefits you. But always seek the advice from your doctor or doctors and always, always get a second, 3rd or fourth opinion. |
Didn't help me but I believe it's worth a shot. If it relieves most or all of your pain, you still have time to keep your options open. It's much easier to think when your mind isn't clouded with pain or drugs.
Good luck, Dale |
to see if
Personally I think exhausting conservative routes are the way to go before considering surgery but then again I'm the one person on this forum who has waited to the longest to do nothing so take it for what it's worth. Also I seem to get excellent short term relief from ESIs and have had one nerve root block that I wasn't particularly impressed with. It didn't seem to do much for me.
