Hey Jim,
I was off most meds very quickly post op and didn't think I'd be needing them again.
I told the doctor at the appt. for my neck yesterday that now I cannot sleep without valium but what I do is every 4 or 5 nights stop taking it for a night or two. Of course I don't sleep and my muscles are much tighter but it tells me I'm not addicted. This was completely of my own doing because I really have never taken much despite the high levels of pain I've had for three years. He gave me no feedback just a blank face.
I'll be curious to hear what others have learned as I haven't needed to worry about this issue yet. I'm thinking I may need a PM doctor now.
Cheryl
