This is such an important topic... I'm glad that Beverly posted it.

There is such a dramatic difference between recumbant MRI and standing/extension MRI. The providers will not want to order standing MRI because the insurance companies will not want to pay for them. In many cases, it would be overkill to go to standing MRI because these anomolies are not all that common. However, in the difficult to diagnose cases, too many people go undiagnosed for years or forever, when more focused testing would have shown the problem.
