Nelly, I hope you don't mind, but I moved this thread from surgical outcomes to the main iSpine forum.

Regarding your pillow question, I think that everyone has their own unique experience with them.

In the past, I have purchased an expensive memory foam pillow that has 2 different heights depending on which side of the pillow you use. When I got it, I was so happy... it seemed like a significant improvement. Then, I stopped using it for a long time. Now, I seem to use it about 1/2 the time. I can't explain why it's so great some time, but completely unimportant at other times.

I'd just try varying arrangements. If you are a back sleeper, you might want to try some pillows under your knees. Side sleepers should try a pillow between their knees. For lumbar patients, both of these can make a significant difference.
