I'm glad you found this site and more so that it was a help to you. Many agree with your assessment of Mark. Can't say where my journey would have taken me without him.
You're still in the hospital and under careful supervision. At this time, the only advise I offer is to take is slow and careful. Back surgeries heal better when not pushed too much. Our mantra - slow and steady wins the race.
