Unhappy Prodiscs Fusing

Lumbar L4-L5 Prodisc-L in 2005 at UC San Francisco with Bradford (a heavy hitter)

Cervical 2 level Prodisc-C ADR in 2005 with Bertagnoli (top dog in Europe I was told)

If I had known about this fusing issue, I don't know if I would have done anything different at the time. The talk of "preventing adjacent level deterioration and preserving motion" was very seductive.

Now, I have been told by several consults that there are many people reporting this problem and that it is something like 5-10% of those who've had Prodisc or other ADR surgery in the previous 3-5 years.
